Jeanne Whitney lives with her Husband, Bill, and four of her six children, On a small farm in Snohomish, Washington.
As the children have gotten older, she has been able to resume her illustration and portraiture.

Mrs.Whitney likes to work with portraits from her own photographs. She takes peculiar delight in studying human anatomy, and has taught life drawing. She likes compositions of two or more people, especially family members, leaning holding or tangled children, many asleep, (children are pretty easy to photograph in this state). |

She works in oil, watercolor, and pen and ink, and experimental combinations of media. She has also designed stained glass logos....and costumes.
She
received Honors for this Portrait at the 52nd
annual Exhibition, at the Howard/Mandville Gallery-Kirkland, Sponsored by the Northwest Watercolor Society. This painting was sold at the exhibit.
She would be interested in taking a few few more portrait commissions a year. Though she she has plenty of illustration work.
Her portraits have a depth that tends to pull you into the mood they portray. Here are examples of her ability to paint the essence of the character of the people she paints.
